So I posted a few days (a week?) ago about how Paul would only sleep in his carseat at night, not on his back in the cosleeper.
Well last night things went from bad to worse. He still sleeps in his carseat during the day (sleeping soundly there right now) but last night he wouldn't sleep ANYWHERE! He was frantic crying and inconsolable... unless he was on one of our chests. We ended up giving in at around 4am and letting him sleep on my chest for the rest of the night.
I'm worried that this is really unsafe, because obviously being the middle of the night I fell asleep too.
Any advice? What to do with a baby that WILL NOT sleep unless being held, laying on someone?
Re: help! sleeping = bad to worse
Have you tried a swing? One of my sons goes a little nutty every so often and won't go to sleep, but if I put him in the swing, he is able to calm down and eventually goes to sleep.
Doesn't kill you that they sleep so well during the day? My boys slept for SEVEN hours the other day, but won't go for more than 2-3 hours at night. Drives me crazy!

Mine slept in their bouncy seats and swings at night and in their boppies, swings or bouncy seats during the day. They NEVER slept in their cribs until 3 months and we had no problem transitioning them. I think they were getting too uncomfortable in them.
I don't know what to tell you about letting them sleep on your chest, but I would try to keep putting them down once they fall asleep. Good luck!
It won't last long. Rowan would have a night like that every once in a while.
I would just move to the sofa so that I wouldn't sleep too soundly.
1st of all- cut yourself a break! It is so hard, and your (beautiful) babies are SO LITTLE! In general, I say anything goes at this point- they are WAY to young to develop any bad habits or anything.
That being said, I used to freak when DD would only fall asleep on DH- everyone says how dangerous it is. So, I have two pieces of advice:
1. Do you swaddle? It might recreate some of the warmth and comfort he gets from laying on you.
2. Ditto to the swing- just the gentle movement might help.
GOOD LUCK- and hang in there.:)
