There is a woman running for the US House of Representatives in DC SOLELY on the anti-abortion platform. Her ads feature photos of aborted fetuses. Thankfully I haven't seen any of the ads, but they are being played at all times of the day. I am so disgusted by this - is there anything I can even do about it, though?

We have an old ice cream truck (?) driving around that has been turned into a "NO ABORTIONS!" truck trying to get people to vote for one of the propositions up for vote. It's quite disgusting, and incredibly distracting. In the 3 blocks that I "followed" it yesterday I saw 5 almost accidents because of people either staring at it, or trying to get around it and/or change lanes, because it was driving like 10 under the speed limit, I assume for maximum viewing effectiveness.

One of the trucks came through our town a few months back and parked in from of my little sister's elementary school. I was so mad, little kids don't need to see that.

Not really - I actually first read about it on the DC board. I haven't heard anything about it on the news, and I watch the news every day. Maybe they are just ignoring her because she is clearly a fvcking psycho.

I read about this on CNN yesterday. Unfortunately the TV stations have to play the adds because she is a Federal Candidate and they are not allowed to censor Federal political adds. Apparently if she was just running for a local office they could.

It's really disgusting, many people are saying she is only running to be able to get these adds on TV.

First of all, that's disgusting - whatever side of the issue anyone is on. I don't think you can do anything about it. Near the PP in the major city near me, they put up all sorts of graphic billboard ads that are anti-abortion. To each their own, right? Except that the billboards face the front of the Children's museum that's on the same block.

I strongly dislike when a candidate runs on one issue regardless of the issue.
