Babies: 6 - 9 Months

When do you give LO a bath?

For some reason, I think of it as a bedtime routine thing. But that's just not working for us. We try to do bath, books, bottle, and bed starting around 7pm most nights (when she naps 3-4hrs total during the day). But if Riley didn't sleep well at daycare.. she will fall asleep at 6pm and sleep till 6am (waking up at one point to eat). I'm thinking of doing it when we get home from work.

When is bath time for LO in your house?

  • She usually showers with me when I do, usually in the morning, or early afternoon.  But once in a while, we take a tubby together at night after daddy gets home from work.

  • I bath Aidan when we get home from daycare.  I do it right away so when he gets fussy and tired for bed its already done.

  • We do bath right before bed.  No books, though - those get him way too riled up to sleep.

  • Bathtime didn't workout as part of his bedtime routine, so i just do it at different times of the day, whatever works for that day.  I shoot for after a nap when there's at least 20min. til his next feeding.  So if he wakes up at 10:30am from his nap, i'll do it then b/c he doesn't eat 'til 11am.

  • We do bathtime at 7:45pm.  Then it's a bottle and bedtime.  DD usually falls asleep by 8pm.  We bathe her on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • We have always done late morning. Night time is our family time and we realized DS was overly tired in the bath and just not happy. Mornings work so much better for us.

  • We do late morning. We've tried to do it as part of a bed-time routine, but it just woke him up more.

  • DD's bath is part of her bedtime routine.  We stop whatever we're doing and give her a bath at 9:00 PM.  After we dry her off, she gets a bottle at around 9:15 PM, and is usually asleep by 9:30 PM.
  • Every other night typically a half hour before bed.  Then he gets a bottle.
