We started apples this week and I went to get myself an apple to snack on, then I remembered we got one of the mesh feeders as a gift, so I cut off a piece of my apple and gave it to DD... she loved it!!!

I gave him cantelope but he wasnt crazy about the mesh.
Your little hands wrapped around my finger and its so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eye lids flutter cause your dreamin so I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light
To you everything's funny, you've got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have hunny, if you could stay like that
Oh darling dont you ever grow up, dont you ever grow up, just stay this little
Oh darling dont you ever grow up dont you ever grow up, it could stay this simple
I wont let nobody hurt you, wont let no one break your heart, no one will desert you
Just try to never grow up
Yes, DD loves bananas in them- however if anyone has good ideas on how to clean them- send them my way!! Seriously, the bananas just get all mushed up in the seams and it is impossible to get out! I had to throw one of the mesh feeders out. I tried everything. Maybe I just should not put bananas in....anyone else have issues with this?!
Just curious. What is the reasoning for using them? Why not just give baby food?
They are a nice transition between pureed foods and chopped up bits of food because they get the baby in the habit of "chewing." However DD, still just sucks the thing to death. I hear that they are also helpful when LO is teething....Just another gadget out there to buy!!

DD loves chewing on everything, so I thought she'd enjoy something with a bit more flavor than a plastic teether. The cold apple might feel good on her gums, and it has a little bit more "give" than a piece of hard plastic. This wasn't for any nutritional value, just to give her a new experience.

This. DS loves his and we have a hard time cleaning the bananas out too. I usually turn it inside out and scrub with the bottle brush. He loves apples in there and it seems to help when he's teething.
Re: Is anyone using mesh feeding bags?
Yeah, I had to pinch the pieces to break them up and release juice so the mesh would have some flavor.

are they easy to clean? No dishwasher here so I'm curious.
