Short-term disability insurance

Did anyone have short-term disability insurance?  If so, through what company?  Did you find the monthly payments to be worth it for what you got while out on maternity leave?  How did it work for you?

    I do through work, they pay the premiums though. It's great, I've used it both for maternity leave as well as medical leave/recovery after my eye surgery.  Ours has a 1 week waiting period and then it kicks in at 66% of your salary.

    Do you know which company is the insurance carrier?  How many weeks did they pay during maternity leave?  Thanks!

    I can't remember off hand....I think metlife maybe?  I was covered for 6 weeks after a vaginal birth (8 if you had a c/s).  With DD I got 5 checks total....1 week you don't get one for the waiting period, then you get a check a week for the remainder of the 6 weeks.  With DS I got more because my doctor pulled me out of work early, I think I got 8 checks total? 

    For my eye surgery I was out of work for 3 weeks and got 2 checks.
