Babies: 3 - 6 Months

How much BM do you send to DC for 3.5mo?

Mine is slowly warming up to bottles at DC, but she only eats 2 oz every 3 hrs or so, and it's taken us about 4 weeks to get there, so she eats a total of 6 oz during 8-hrs of DC (which is still a victory for me, considering where she was at before). When I calculate on kellymom, it says that she should be eating somewhere between 20-25 oz/day. She eats better at nights with me (she still wakes up 2-3x/night to eat). TIA.

  • We have a nanny watch our DD while we are both at work.  The first few days she ate very little (maybe a total of 6 oz in the 8.5 hours I was gone) but after a few days she went up to 12-16 oz.  I leave 4 4oz bottles at home.  Some days she eats them all, other days there's some left over.  My DD is just about 3.5 months old.

  • When Luke first started daycare at 12 weeks I was doing 3-4oz bottles.  It is now up to 5.5 or 6oz.
  • He eats around 11 oz while I'm gone.  He nurses at least 4 times, usually 5, while I'm home.

  • On the days he's away from me - depending on the timing of his first feeding of the day and those that follow.. he has 4-5 bottles of 5oz while away - so 20-25oz. He nurses once in the morning and once or twice at night. Fortunately for me that's only twice a week for me.. b/c it's hard to keep up!
