I get my toilet paper, paper towels, trashbags, sponges, dishwasher detergent, sometimes meat if I am in the mood to split and package to freeze, bananas, and laundry detergent that I remember offhand.
Toilet paper, paper towels, mango, cherrios (D3 eats a lot of cheerios as snack) cleaning products, books, meat, sourdough bread (2 loaves for $3.50 and we freeze one), milk (bc we're at the age where he still drinks a ton), I'm sure there is more but I can't think of it right now.
We shop at Costco. I get dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, prenatal vitamins, TUMS, generic ibuprofen and tylenol, cheeses (Feta, Parmesan), chicken, granola, coffee, hummus, ravioli, sweet potato french fries (that you bake. . ..so yummy), frozen fruit (for smoothies), fresh fruit in the summer (I freeze blue berries and mango for Zoe for winter), organic chicken sausages. I sometimes find deals on kids clothes, other times I don't like what they have. They also have great prices on books and toys, but it's hit or miss what they have. They have great deals on wrapping paper and ribbon near Christmas.

We shop at Sams and buy toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, dishwashing detergent, clothes detergent, some cleaning supplies, milk, OJ, bread (two loaves for approx. $3,00 and freeze one), hamburger (divide into 1 1b servings or patties & freeze), frozen chicken breasts and tenders, frozen pizza, marinara sauce, peanut butter, cheerios, olive oil, fruit cups, goldfish, animal cookies, diapers/wipes, some Gerber quick meals, shampoo, soap, lotion, toothpaste, razor blades, deoderant...it sounds like a ton when I type it out! I agree that clothes, toys, books, decorations, etc. can be found at good price but are definitely hit or miss - have to check them out each time you go.
We have a Costco & Sam's membership (through FIL's business), so I buy different things at each store depending on price (they're across the street from each other so I usually do this in one trip).
Foods I buy frequently are breads (sandwich & their bakery breads - you can get a big bag for $2-3, use what you need and freeze the rest), cheese, sandwich meat, fruit, veggies, eggs, butter, Simply Lemonade, spices, baking supplies, and milk (we don't drink a lot of milk, so I buy the 3 pack of organic half-gallons which have a crazy long expiration date which is cheaper than stores). I also buy toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, diapers, wipes, Ziploc freezer bags, etc.
Like PP, their clothes and toys are hit or miss, but sometimes you can find good deals. They have lots of random things (small appliances, etc) that I like to look through.
I'm not sure if you use coupons, but if so you can usually find deals in grocery stores that would beat some of the prices.
We buy toilet paper, diapers and wipes (all BJ's brand), meat, snacks, clothes, books greeting cards/stickers/wrapping paper, razors, cleaning stuff, trash bags, milk (sometimes)...it varies. The things we always by there are the TP, diapers and wipes.. Oh, and most importantly, gas!
I like BJ's because they take manuf. coupons. You can use a manuf. coupon + a BJ's coupon on the same item. I've saved a bunch on Pampers & Luvs that way. But I now mostly buy their store brand diapers (they're a lot like Target ones).
diapers, wipes, milk, popcorn, granola bars, coffee, olive oil, deli meat, hamburger, laughing cow cheese, mushrooms, strawberries in season & lots of other little things

We have a Costco membership and do a majority of our shopping there.
DH usually does the shopping but he gets chicken (they have perforated packages that each have 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts in them- we freeze them and cut off a package at a time to thaw when we plan to eat chicken), meat (which we separate and freeze), fruits, veggies, cheese, sandwich meat, bread (again, take what we need and freeze), toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies (from windex to bleach), laundry detergent, storage bags, chips, pretzels, (and lots of other snacks), cereal, medicines, coffee, spices, eggs, milk, dog food (and their frontline, too).... yeah haha that list goes on.
The initial shop is costly ($300ish?) but it lasts for a long time so we don't make such frequent shopping trips. Other than food we also buy some clothes, books, household items, etc. which are all sort of hit or miss like pps have said.

I've got to run, but I buy lots of things there that save me money.
Spices are a big savings if you buy from there!

Here's a good article on the subject...
