Cincinnati Babies

Is this a good baby gift?

I want to give something different/useful for an upcoming shower. Thoughts?

Re: Is this a good baby gift?

  • I think so.  I love having an extra diaper caddy in our room.  It was way more useful in the beginning when we were constantly changing diapers, but we still use it from time to time.

  • I should add I will fill it with goodies like wipes, diaper cream, etc.

Even better.  I recommend baby Aquaphor if you're looking for a good cream.  It can pull double duty and be used a a lotion, for chapped cheeks and lips and it takes care of diaper rash better than anything I have tried.

  • Do they have a big house? Ours is a ranch, so we wouldn't have needed something like that. I'd suggest a Munchkin duck tub with bath supplies/washclothes. Or a Kiddopotamus placemat, Snacktraps and other feeding supplies. I like to give those things because they're things I really loved that people often don't think of or register for.

  • They have a 2story, with the bedrooms upstairs. Good point, Christy.

  • If they have a 2 story house then absolutely!  We had one of those downstairs and it was definitely a must-have for us.

  • Someone gave us a caddy as a gift (we didn't register for one) and I have loved it.  We have a tiny house so it doesn't move around much but rather, sits on DD's changing table, keeping her diapers, lotions, wipes, etc. organized.  And when we travel, I just grab it and go.  I always think storage items like that come in handy...even if they use it as a caddy for a while and then for storage later.

I second the Aquaphor...I like to include it in my diaper supply gifts too!

  • We have a decent size 2 story house and I would have had no need for that.  We have our pack and play in the living room, which has plenty of storage.  The other place I change her most is our bedroom and we have a co-sleeper with lots of storage.   In our nursery, I keep all the supplies in the top drawer of the dresser I change her on.

One of my absolute favorite things is the aden + anais swaddling blankets.  They sell them at BRU, but just online so most people don't know about them.  You can find them on Amazon for around $35.  I use them for swaddling, on the ground to play on, a nursing cover and to put over the car seat/stroller when we're out.

  • I think this is a great gift.  I actually have two of these, one for each of my boys.  I use it for their bath supplies.  I keep overnight diapers, diaper cream, baby lotion, etc., in it.  I don't keep their stuff in the bathroom but rather in their bedrooms and I carry it back and forth at bathtime.  I personally would love a gift like that.
