Can someone, ANYONE help me out with this? I have been working very hard since 6 weeks pp to lose weight. I gained 20 lbs during IVF and 42 with pregnancy. I was 154 when I got pregnant and 196 when I delivered (I am 5'4" with a short torso). Today I am about 138. I have worked out 5-6 times a week for 10 months. I am happy with my weight, though 130 is my ultimate goal but I cannot get rid of my squishy belly. It has gone done a lot but its still so squishy. I have been doing momsintofitness.com DVD's which really helped but I have reached a plateau and I just can't burn off the belly fat. Anyone successfully do this without surgery?? I really want to be in the best shape possible when I get pregnant with #2 so I don't have to work as hard to get my body back so I am really focusing on this. Thanks!
Re: Losing belly fat after pregnancy
the belly fat for me only goes away if I do low/no-carbs and major cardio (elliptical, 1 hour a day for 6-7 days a week) and this past two years I have needed metformin to lose weight...
but you are my hero! I am 5'4" too. I was 178 after losing the twins (used to be 128 at my thinnest ever (size 5!) when I met DH and went all the way to 184 before getting pg with them)...then I worked out like nuts and was 139 when I got pg with DD...now I am 186 or so (gained 45 lbs with pg) and have gained weight after giving birth (I pretend this is due to massive oatmeal ingestion as I sit here eating chocolate cheesecake ice cream)....I keep telling myself I will start dieting next week or the next but we are too stressed out and eating well/exercising is just what gives....
go you!
70% of how you look is what you eat.....maybe modify your diet and the belly area will go down even more. Some of it may just be looser skin. I had a six-pack prior to having DS and my belly just does not look quite same and I also work out 4-5 times a week. Aaaah--the joys of being pregnant
Great work with the exercising!

i agree - for me it is unrealistic to be 128 or even 135 I think after having DD....128 was if I literally starved myself of carbs, exercised everyday, had an active job, lived in Boston and walked everywhere etc....
I would love to even get down to 150-155 as a first goal...if only to be able to walk around and get off the couch without killing my knees....
but you are doing a great job!
