I am buying my first stash/supplies. Do most of you use flushable liners? Are they the easiest way to remove solids from the diaper? Sorry, still trying to figure this all out!
Eh, liners aren't really necessary. We just rinse the poop. If it's BM poop, no rinsing is even necessary. It's nice to have a small stash of fleece ones for diaper cream days though.

I have some but really don't use them. I feel like they just stick to ds' skin and leave it feeling damp. If you're going to do liners I'd do fleece. I like that it keeps my son's little butt dry and they are easy to shake and rinse out. Most of the time tho I totally forget to put in a liner, not a big deal... I just rinse poop out in the slop tub in the laundry room and scrub off with an old toothbrush used just for cd's.
It's not bad at all. To me it's no different than wiping spit-up off my arm or clothes. ;-)

I have to admit that I am very scared of the poop factor!!
I was scared of this too but than quickly realized if I was going to get poop on me with a cloth diaper it was going to happen in a disposable just the same. I also told myself blow outs will happen in both and it is all part of the journey.
I would suggest them for when you are out in public. I really don't want to stick a diaper in a public toilet and then put it in my wet bag and don't want to carry a poop covered diaper either. It catches most but not all of the poop.
After a while you get used to the poop. The fun part is if you have a sprayer and a random back spray hits you or the wall..

Baby Bee decided to poop during a change last week. Thankfully it didn't get on the wall or furniture but it covered the outside of the fresh diaper and got all over my hand. Fun fun.=-)

I personally think flushable liners are a waste of money. They leave your LO feeling wet, and they don't really keep the poop off the diaper, so you end having to deal with the poo anyway. Newborn poop is really easy to deal with, esp. if you are BF. It is water soluable, just throw in the wash. Even if you use formula, same thing. If the poo is really gross, you may have to deal with it. But the only time that it was kind of yucky is when her poo changed from newborn to kind of a peanut butter consistancy. Then I had to spray it off, but I really found that just dunking and swirling worked the best. I was spraying one of her BG OS, and felt a little bit of water on my foot. That was it for me, no more spraying! Just plop it into the toilet, give it a quick swirl and dunk, flush! Into the the diaper pail. And as far as being out in public I just fold up the diaper and put it into the wet bag. I deal with it when i get home and I have never had a smell issue when using the wet bag. I use gloves if it is really bad. Not really eco friendly, but I do my best to be green! Contact me with any questions you may have...
