Initially I wanted to deliver at Columbia St Marys. My acupunturist works there and I've had a good experience every time I've been there and I like what I've seen on the website for their birthing rooms, etc.
However, then I found out I was pregnant with triplets, had to go to see the perinatologist at Froedtert and were signed up for high risk OB at Froedtert. Since then we lost two of the babies, so I'm back to a normal pregnancy and I can pick any OB. I'm torn, because I really did like my experience with the peri at Froedtert and she said that I would need to come back to their hospital for all my ultrasounds anyway. I don't have an OB, so if you have any good reccommendations or experiences at either hospital I'd appreciate it. I need to find someone by the end of next week.
Re: Froedtert or Columbia St Mary's?
Well right now I am TTC, but I will be high risk and met with Dr. Kuhlman at Froedert. I liked going there because you actually deliver at Childrens Hospital. Everyone seems so friendly and I really just felt like I would be taken care of. I don't have any experience with St. Mary's, but in my opinion I would pick Froedert
I delivered my son at West Allis 4 years ago, now the Aurora docs also deliver at Froedtert. I switched OB-GYN's and am seeing Dr. Jonathan Berkoff and will deliver at St. Mary's. I am excited to be delivering there
Also Dr. Berkoff has been named one of the top OB's in Milwaukee for many years, he has a great bedside manner and I couldn't be happier. I see your post is from September...have you found a new doctor yet?
I am not a fan of Aurora, I used to work for them as well. My sons pediatrician is also a Columbia-St. Mary's doctor and is fabulous as well. Dr. Teresa Cafaro is her name. She has priveledges at CHW which is obviously important if your little one gets ill, you want them at CHW!
