This week I have had THREE instances where instead of people acting like complete jackholes and making me feel like I'm a walking whale, they have given me compliments about being pregnant!
1) Flu shot nurse at work - asked me when I was due and when I told her she said "oh my! you look fantastic!!!" It made my day
2) Today at my baby shower - the same woman who asked me if I was having twins when I was pg w/ Avery at 33 weeks - came in and realized it was a baby shower and she thought I had longer than a month left. She was amazed I was already 8 months along!
3) (My favorite) - Today I was at Sam's and the cashier didn't see I was pregnant right away. She finallly realized it and said "woah! look at you! you're pregnant!" and I was waiting for the ass-tastic comment to follow along...however... she told me that I "rocked the pregnant belly"! and that I was super cute! She even called her friend over and pointed me out! LOL!
It made me feel so good about myself...
Re: Finally - some nice PG comments by strangers...
It is so nice when people are polite instead of jerks. It always amazes me what people think they can say to complete strangers!
I saw your earlier post about scheduling the repeat C-section and I hope that you are feeling better about the decision. I understand feeling like you have to "defend" it though, even if it is medically necessary. I had a scheduled C as well and it was such a roller coaster of emotions/ expectations. It was still a great birth experience and remember... at the end all that matters is that you and Ryan are both healthy and fine!
BFP#2: 9/25/11 M/C 6 weeks 5 days (CP) 10/13/11
BFP#3: 12/23/11 Progesterone started 12/29/11 Stick, baby, stick!
That's awesome! I haven't had any comment yet but I am mentally getting ready for them...lol
That is fantastic!!
I work at a turoring center, and we have these long sort 'u' shaped tables where the teachers sit in the middle and the table is around us. The other day I got up to go to the bathroom and one of my newer coworkers looked me funny and goes "wait, you're pregnant?! I had no idea!"
I know part of it is the table hides me, but it still made me me feel pretty awesome!
