Here's the deal:
Daniel is going as a shark for Halloween (the PBK costume), so we thought hard to come up with something coordinating for William and came up with chum. He's going to be Daniel's little chum.
The original plan was to put him in a bucket with some kind of dead fish-guts looking hat (I was going to knit something red and lumpy), and label the bucket "CHUM". Unfortunately, when we took him to Lowe's to try on buckets, it quickly became obvious that he's way too interested in climbing out of the bucket for that to be safe. So I had to come up with a Plan B.
I just got back from the fabric store with stuff to make him a dead fish costume, but I'm not sure how to make it obvious that he's not just any dead fish, he's chum. What would you do? The only thing I can come up with is a big tag that says "CHUM", but clearly real-life chum would not be wearing a tag. Any other ideas?
Thanks!
Plan C, BTW, would be to make him a box-of-chocolates costume with a label on it that reads, "Candygram", but DH is pretty sure nobody at all would get that. Do you get it?
Re: Some costume help, please?
That's actually a really good plan B 1/2. I'm thinking I can knit him this hat instead of a lumpy red hat, then if there's time I can make him a dead fish body costume too.
I feel kinda awful about making him into a dead fish for Halloween, but I really do like the chum pun. Hopefully he'll share our family's odd sense of humor as he grows up, so he won't totally hate us for this...
what about just a goldfish costume or something? might not be as "morbid"? I googled and saw this:

I totally get it, and it would be hilarious!
:-D
I totally don't get it and need an interpreter! I thought, "is his name Graham?", but no...
