WDYT of Finnegan?

I really like Finn, but I think that the longer, formal name sounds better with our last name.

For what it's worth, I don't care that Finn is now a popular character on Glee, I loved the name before the show came out.

I really like Finn FWIW

I prefer Finnian to Finnegan. To me, Finnegan is a last name (could be because my best friend's last name is Dunnigan?) But I REALLY like Finnian.

I like Finn, Finnian or Finley but not Finnegan. Reminds me of *breaks into song* There was an old man named Micheal Finnegan, he had whiskers on his chin-e-gan, the wind blew them off and they blew in again, poor old Michael Finnegan begin again..... *stops signing* I would constantly sing that every time i heard Finnegan.

I love Finn. Phineas is actually on my name list. Personally, I like that better than Finnian or Finnegan. Phineas was a character from the book A Seperate Peace.

The two people I know with sons named Finnegan used the name as a literary reference, so I immediately put the name in the same category as Flannery, Holden, Harper, etc.

Finnegan is an Irish (last) name on my DH's side of the family. We briefly considered it, but I liked it more for a middle name rather than first. I really liked Patrick Finnegan. So the name is okay. I just personally wouldn't use it for a first name - just nms really.

Our neighbor just names their son Finnigan after a resturant in Miami i think they asy they met at or something. I think its adorable and i love Finn for short.

I like Finn. I don't think you need the longer version! When I hear Finnegan I just think of the old man from Oliver Twist. Finn plain is great though!

Finnegan was the dog puppet on Mr. Dressup (maybe it's just a Canadian thing?), so I think it's sweet.

Eric McCormack (Will from Will and Grace, a Canadian) named his son Finnegan.

I loved Mr. Dressup... And now I'm sad again that he's gone. Crying

I like Finnigan (spelled this way, for some reason). Like PPs said, there's also Griffin, Phineas, Finnian and Finley (although that's being used more often for girls).
