The kids first birthday is in a little less than two months and I'd like to get an idea of what I want to do for favors soon. I have a friend who did bubbles, which I thought was cute. I have another friend who made picture frames with each child's initals but I am so not crafty.
I would love some recommendations. I am open to just about anything that I don't have to be crafty to do.
TIA
Re: Ideas please - favors for first birthday party???
Do you go to Target? The Dollar bins up front have great little gifts. I picked up board books for his first birthday to give out plus a toy plane. This year the kids are getting crayons and a coloring book.
I did a bag w/ glow sticks, bubbles and homemade cookies. You can make the batter ahead of time, scoop out the Tbl for the cookies then freeze them. All you need to do is bake them the night before.
I also included a little pumpkin. I got everything for a $1 each including the pumpkin! You could include a little ornament in each bag. Check out the Dollar Store, they have a ton of little things.
DD had a cupcake-themed party, and we found tons of stuff in the dollar section of Target to go with the theme. There just happened to be aprons, cupcake frames (bear frames for the boys), and cupcake stickers (monkey stickers for the boys
) I put their names on the aprons (there were only about 12 kids, and I got funfetti cake mix and paper cupcake liners. I got a board book instead of cake mix and stickers for the babies that were there.
You can definitely find tons of cute (cheap!) things in the dollar bins at either Target or even craft stores like Jo-Ann Fabrics or Michaels.
I did: bubbles, cookies, cups they could color on (oriental trading), I bought little frames they could color (michael's), silly bands, little airplanes to put together (oriental trading), and little lady bug wands.
Look at oriental trading for a theme, you will be amazed!

I gave out copies of the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. This was good for the babies, the toddlers, and the kids up to 1st grade who were in attendance at DS's birthday the weekend before last.

I am getting big pink and white lollipops- and tying ribbon around the handle- I ordered custom favor tags that say "Thanks for swinging by, love C"
The theme is monkey
Our theme is winter onederland/snowflakes so I am doing a little bag filled with snowflake toys from oriental trading - pencils, slap bracelets, stampers...
For the adults, I am making treat bag of white chocolate snowflakes. I have the chocolate molds and buy the bulk white chocolate, melt it down and fill the molds. EASY!
You could do DIY sippy cups - Danielle's blog - A few of my favorite things - did them for the girls' bday and they were cute!
Choc. covered pretzel sticks, cookies...
