Seriously, where did you get your flu shot?!

So I am trying to be a good patient and get my flu shot like the doctor wants but have now been to Target, called Walgreens, health department and Dillons pharmacy and none of them carry the preservative free vaccine and it is "not in their protocol to give vaccines to pregnant woman". UGH. I don't have a primary care doctor, but I don't know if I have any other choice..where did you get yours?

  • I got mine at my OB office.

  • That's strange that they won't give them to pregnant women. The health department here offered them for free last week to pregnant women! But I wasn't looking for the preservative free one. Sorry. That wasn't much help. )-: GL!

  • My OB/GYN gave me mine today at my 28 week appt.

  • I got it at work (I work in a hospital), so it was free for employees. Why are you looking for a presevative free shot? Do you have an allergy?

  • At my OB's office.  I asked whether she'd recommend it, and she was like, sure!  We can do it right now if you'd like!  And I was like, hell yeah, one fewer trip.

  • That sounds extremely odd to me. Odd, as in, you have some odd local pharmacies!

I went this past Saturday morning at 7am to my local Walgreens and they gave me the preservative free vaccine on the spot.

You can always ask your OB to give you one or whomever you are getting your prenatal care from on where to get one.

I wasn't looking for the preservative free vaccine at all actually. To be honest I knew nothing about it, I only thought I couldn't have the nasal mist. And when I went to get it from Target pharmacy, they are the ones that told me they could not give them to pregnant women and I needed a preservative free vaccine..ugh. So I decided just to call on my own, and several places said they were not allowed to give them to pregnant women. And my OB office doesn't offer them! This is just crazy..I honestly thought it would be easy to get someone to stick it to me!

    I know right? Seriously odd

  • I got mine (preservative-free) at Walgreens over a month ago.  My OB office also stocks them.

  • I got mine at my last OB appt.
  • Our county has free flu shot locations on a weekly basis...I actually went to a "drive-thru" location today and got mine.  I just had to notify them I was PG so they gave me the preservative free one...it was pretty funny that I just stuck my arm out the window to get my shot :)
  • I got mine at work but they required a note from my OB which took too darn long to get. I miss working in a hospital for that reason.

  • My office is doing them Wednesday, but the nurse service that does them requires a note for pregnant woman.  My OB offered to do it at her office, but I just asked for the note since it's free to me at work.  So, maybe you just need a note to get one at a pharmacy.

  • My Target and Walgreens and OB won't give me the regular flu shot either. AND none of them have the pregnancy ok one either. Not sure what the heck I'm gonna do.
  • My school district gives them for free to employees.  DH was gone the weekend they did the free shots for employees so my OB's office gave him one.
  • really @ Walgreens? I got mine at Walgreens and they didn't say anything like that... the pharmacist and I even had a conversation about the baby.
