(Coming up from 12-24; dd is 23 months)
I am getting very frustrated. Since 9 months, when dd started STTN, she has been an excellent sleeper and has always needed more sleep than the avg, kid. She goes to bed at 7:30 and would sleep every day until 8:45 if I let her, but I usually get her around 8:15 just bc we have things to do. She wakes at 7:30 am T & Th for MDO.
She has always gone to sleep super easily, no rocking or anything. I just lay her in her crib and she falls asleep on her own. She was fighting her 12:30 nap, so I moved it to 1:00 and that worked for a while. Now she's fighting that. In fact, she has not taken a nap since last Wed! She just sits up there and chatters. And takes off all her clothes. She has been fighting her afternoon nap for about 2 months now... sleeping off and on.
I firmly believe in naps and am NOT ready to give them up. Sooo... do you think she is sleeping too MUCH at night? Should I starting waking her up after 12 hours of sleep? OR should I move the nap to later, maybe 1:30 or 2?
Anything else funny go on around this age with their sleep schedules?
tia!!!!!!!
Re: Fighting the 1 nap- help!!
I could have written this exact post word for word. DD has been going on a nap strike and it's hit or miss these days. It's such a problem when she doesn't nap b/c it makes her sooo crabby by dinnertime. What has been somewhat working for us is that we've moved her naptime to 2ish. If she doesn't actually sleep, at least she has some quite time, you know? However, I'd be interested to see if anyone has some words of wisdom on this....
PS - I love that she takes her clothes off, I would crack up!
