Running around in a circle before bath??

After supper we've been trying to get in the habit of "clean up time" with DD. We pick up all her toys and put them away. Lately this has been her cue to run around the 8x10 ft rug in the living room in circles kicking a balloon or two leftover from her b-day. We're talking run over and over and over. She's out of breath and falls over from being so tired before we have to stop her and take her in for bathtime. Has this happened to anyone else? It's cute but kind of weird...

  • My niece used to do this when she was overtired and trying to stay awake.

  • Do you react when she does it, laugh a lot?!  Maybe she's responding to your reactions...?

No, we usually are just finishing picking up stuff when she does it. Sometimes we sit and watch and sometimes we just start the bath...

  • DD runs in a circle after her bath, naked and slapping her big belly and screaming. We think it's funny....until she pees on the rug :-p
  • DS does something similar, he runs around our rug then runs around the dining table. DH has been running around with him lately and he's so ready for bath & bedtime after about 15 minutes.

  • DD does this when we take off her clothes for bath.  She gets away and starts running all over the house.  She usually does the slaps on the belly and makes this strange moaning sound while running in circles around the living room.  Although, we laugh every time so I guess we just add fuel to the fire.
