xp:Can/should DS get flu shot?

I am due in 12 days w/ LO #2.  We are a flu shot family, but only when I am pregnant or have a new baby at home- for their sake! DH and I had ours, but DS has an appointment tomorrow to get his flu shot but he's had the sniffles and a cough pretty much constantly since he started his new preschool in early September.  Will they give him the flu shot if he's not totally in tip top health?  Even if the doc will, should we? WWYD?

    Call your doctor and ask what he/she reccommends.  Our pediatrician wouldn't give it to DS if he had a fever or was really sick.  But DS got it and did just fine with a runny nose. But he wasn't really sick to the point of needing medicine or anything.

    My son is 17 months and in day care - he always has a runny nose and a bit of a cough.  Our pedi had no problem giving him his flu shot - and he did well with it.  Good luck!

    Our pedi said we had to wait until DD finished her meds, she had an ear infection, and make sure her ears were clear. Obviously sniffles aren't as bad. As long as he doesn't have a fever, they'll probably let him get one. If they okay it, I would. It's better for him and the new baby. Does he take a vitamin supplement? Our pedi recommended one once DD started daycare. I'm upset it is looking like DD won't be able to get hers before this baby is born.
