That seemes like so far away. i went to the doctor Friday for my 14 week check up. Another appt in 4 weeks and then the big one on Nov.30. She said the baby has to be bigger to find out the sex. I CAN'T WAIT. I though you can know the sex by 18 weeks...Ughhhh

After 16 weeks you can find out. A little later is better. By 18 weeks for SURE you should be able to tell! You could always go somewhere else and pay for an u/s!

The real purpose of the anatomy scan is for them to look at the four chambers of the heart, the bladder, kidneys, spine, etc. That's why it's between 18 - 22 weeks. Finding out the sex is an added bonus.

I know how you feel, though. Mine isn't until Nov 30th - still 5 long weeks away.

Anatomy scans (and sex reveals) can be done at 18 weeks. Perhaps your doctor just prefers to do them on the later end. My doc prefers to do them earlier so he can do blood screens if anything looks to be wrong on the scan. I'm getting mine done at 17w6d!

Mine is scheduled on Nov 29th. They do them at 18-20 weeks at my doctor's office and she said if you really want to be sure to find out the gender then to wait on the longer end. Sometimes if they do it too soon it is hard to tell.

That's when I have my appt as well. Since I go to a separate perinatologist for my ultrasounds, they wanted to schedule it for 20 weeks. I wished I could have scheduled it for the week before so I could shop accordingly on Black Friday. I told my husband that now I get to do double the shopping and just return what we need to.

Maybe I'm miscalculating, but won't that put you at about 19 weeks? That's only one week longer than 18 weeks. What's the big deal?

She and I have the same due date and Nov 30th would be 20w2d. I had to make my appt when I was 12w2d and it definitely seems a looong ways away.

I dont even have the anatomy scan scheduled yet. They did tell me that I should know between 18-20 weeks...I will be 18 weeks my next appt. but like I said I didn't schedule it and it seems like people are specifically scheduling them so I am not getting my hopes up that I will know before Blcak Friday like I was hoping for! :-/

I would check with your doc. I have mine scheduled...but it also the regular 4 week check-up also. maybe they just didn't mention it.
