I've really started noticing lately that Justin does. One thing he does not like is for his hands to be dirty. The sitter told us that when they do projects like finger painting he doesn't like to get his hands dirty. And I've noticed this at home too. And yesterday we went to watch my niece play soccer. It was muddy out and whenever Justin would fall and get his hands dirty he would get a little bothered by it. I started worrying that I am rubbing off on him. I wash my hands a lot. I really need to pay attention to this. This morning Justin touched the toilet seat and I immediately said to him that he needed to wash his hands. I sort of wish I reacted differently because I don't want him to become a germaphobe. Hopefully this is just a phase. And I've also noticed that he gets scared of things a lot. I want him to be cautious but not scared to do things. And I want to protect him but not keep him from doing stuff.
Re: Do your kids have any funny quirks?
is this a quirk?
we all know when M is done eating. he must remove every bit of food, including sippy from his tray/table. usually it all ends up on the floor, but we've been working on getting him to hand us the food/sippy instead of tossing it on the floor. i understand why some parents get dogs now! the cats don't eat 90% of the people food!
Haha. My Justin does the same thing! He got fidgety at the end of his disney haircut so she sprinkled him with "pixie dust" (large confetti) and he freaked. He was like, "noooo, nooo, Mama, I messy!" and he kept saying, "I spilled, I spilled". DH and I are SO not neat freaks, I don't know where he gets it.
Also he will not eat "sandwiched" things, he insists I seperate things like oreos or grilled cheese.
Abby does this! Except we are lucky and she has to hand it to us. She is just starting to drop food to the floor
All of this sounds alot like G too, she's so particular and notices anything out of place
