Hello girls! I've missed you all so much this past week. My grandmother had her second stroke 2 weeks ago today. She wasn't doing very well after it, she was paralyzed on the right side of her body, didn't know who anyone was and couldn't swallow (among other things), so they put her on comfort care. We left for Wyoming last Saturday to say goodbye. I flew by myself with the kids and met up with my parents in Denver where we drove up to Wyoming. We only ended up driving 4 hours to Casper, where my brother lives, because Phoebe screamed her head off the last two hours of the drive. We stayed the night with my brother and were planning on driving the other 2 hours the next morning. While we were getting ready (and watching my wedding video because it was my 1 year anniversary) we got the call that my grandmother had passed away. I was heartbroken that we got so close and didn't get to say goodbye and that I didn't get to introduce her to Phoebe. I know that she wasn't with it enough to know but it mattered to me. I grew up 2 houses away from her and she basically raised me since both of my parents worked. Going through her house this last week was an interesting experience. She saved everything, including all of the art projects I ever did and our old toys. I love the fact that Rowen now has my old Care Bears and my glow worm.
Anyways, it was a long sad week but I'm home now. The kids did so great flying and being completely off their schedule. Rowen only had a couple meltdowns and he was completely exhausted the entire time. And I accidently erased his bedtime music off the I-Pod. Phoebe is a great little flier though. I'm so used to flying alone with Rowen but adding Phoebe to the mix scared the crap out of me, esp because she won't take a binky. But she just fell asleep during take off and slept the whole flight. She also slept in a crib the entire time so now that we are home we are working on transitioning her. So far she is doing great. She's so funny right now. She doesn't like laying down and keeps trying to sit up everytime you lay her down. She looks like she is doing crunches.
Oh, I almost forgot. My grandmother was really known for making her baby blankets. She made these beautiful quilts for everyone and I was really upset that Phoebe wasn't going to be getting one. Well she had started making one before she died. My grandfather told me she had the blocks all put aside. Well we found it and my aunt finished it for her. Its one of those little things that just meant the world to me.
Well I hope everyone is doing good. I'm going to try to go back and catch up on everything now.
Re: I'm back!
I'm so sorry about your Grandma, April.
But, it's so cool she had a blanket started for Phoebe. I have blankets that my Grandma made for me, we'll be handing them down to Mady. I love that she has something from my Grandma. Gifts from the heart like that are so special.

I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. How wonderful that she had started the blanket and for your aunt to finish it. I love things like that. I'm so glad your travels were okay with the two LO's. I can't even imagine doing that by myself.
I hope everyone gets back on routine quickly!
