3rd Trimester

Where do you buy your maternity clothes?

With my first son, I exclusively ordered on gap.com. I am 5'10" so it's hard to find clothes that don't look ridiculously short on me as it is. But with this pregnancy, I feel like the selection is SO drab, like drab colors, dumpy styles. I feel like a slob and I HATE getting dressed every day. I also really HATE paying $70 for a pair of jeans I will wear for 2-3 months. I am 30 weeks pregnant and I have 10 more weeks of feeling like this, lol.

So.....anyone? Where do you go to get clothes? Or where do you order from online?

I am in NJ---the land of malls.

I'm 5'9", so I feel your pain on being able to find pants long enough.  Most of mine this time around are from Target, actually, and jeans from Old Navy fit pretty well.  For tops I've bought from Target and Gap, with an occasional Motherhood purchase thrown in.  They're boring, but they don't break the bank.
  • Loading the player...
  • They carry Motherhood jeans at BRU and they have a much better return policy there.  I also go to Target and (sometimes) Kohl's.  My sister's closet (she already has 2 kids) worked out well too.
  • I have bought most of mine at outlet stores and thrift stores.  I have been focusing on buying things that I will be able to wear after I have the baby as well like wrap dresses and skirts with an elastic/drawstring waist.  The nice thing about sticking to dresses and skirts is how tall you are doesn't affect how they look as much as pants. I'm 5'9 with a long inseam and have the same problem.

  • I got my Motherhood clothes from Gordmans, my favorite jeans from Target, and my favorite top from ebay.
  • I am tall too and have had luck with the motherhood maternity secret belly fit jeans.

  • Thyme Maternity- i love their clothes!
  • I get a lot from the local consignment store and from Old Navy,  I'm only 5'4 and have had problems finding petite stuff.

  • My favorite pieces have been from Ross and TJ Maxx---I got two really cute pairs of skinny jeans and some great tops for $6-12 each. I know it's hit or miss, but it's worth a try!
  • I get my clothes from Old Navy, JCPenny, and Motherhood. For the most part they are comfortable and affordable. I know how you feel, it's wired buying clothes for a few months...but in the end it's worth it for comfort.  Good Luck!
  • I've pretty much gotten all my clothes from motherhood. I've gotten some things from Target, but I've found their prices are pretty much the same and I feel like Motherhood quality is better than Targets. I also had really good luck finding tops at Maurices. Normally, their tops would annoy me because I couldn't tell whether they were supposed to be worn with leggings like a dress or what, but with the belly they turned out to be regular looking shirts that were a great length. Although at this point not much of anything fits anymore!

  • This time around i bought most of mine at target and motherhood maternity ( their jeans SUCK in my opinion) I also did one shop at gap.. I agree there selection is not as nice as it was when i was pregnant with ds just over 3 yrs ago and their jeans are $$$ but.. I bought 1 pair of maternity jeans there and i have been wearing them since april/may and they fit perfect... I am 5'6 and I bought a pair at motherhood and they are HORRIBLE.. they keep falling down.. at first i thought it was cause I was not far along enough but as my pregnancy has gone on I keep trying to wear them and I have them on for 5 min and they keep pulling down and cant seem to stay up.. I need to burn them.. the most annoying pair of pants I have ever worn.

  • You don't have to feel this way anymore! Check out Mommy Long Legs. We specialize in tall maternity clothes.   I'm 6'2 and have 2 babies. I got so tired of everything being 3 inches too short when I was pregnant. So I started this company to help other tall women.

We have jeans and trousers...and a new line of tops and dresses coming after the new year.  The best part is they are affordable.  Right now, everything is $49.99 and under.  34, 36, and 38 inch inseams!

We believe every woman deserves to feel beautiful. Long Legs shouldn't mean less choices.  www.mommylonglegs.com
