BIRTH CONTROL?

Well my question pretty much is what birth control would you recommend? Im very nervous about taking or putting anything in my body that i dont kno the effects it will have, but after this child I will definatly have to consider something! I had my first child in September of 2009, and my next one is due Jan 2011 so they are extremly close and dont want this happening again lol , so if anyone recommends one over another please let me kno thank you!

I had success with Ortho Tri Cyclen. (sp?) I was o that for quite some time and it was successfull.

If you think of going on the shot, be careful.  I know several friends who have had trouble concieving after being on it.  One had to go see a specialist because she kept miscarrying.  She had some tests done and the specialists said it was from the shot.

I agree about the shot.. It's horrible. I had trouble conceivng afterwards, and my doctor said my miscarriage may have been caused by the aftershock of the shot. I was on it for a long time though, almost 4 years.

I think after this one we are going to try the Implan.. the thing that goes in your arm.. I have heard good things about it. I can't remember to take a pill everyday or that would be my next option. I have also heard bad things about IUD's..but of course everyone reacts to different things differently. but a few ladies I know are having trouble concieving after getting their IUD's out.

After we have 1 more (in 3 or 4 years) I plan on getting my tubes tied, or DF is getting snipped. lol. Your OB should also be able to help pick a birth control, or at least show you your options.

I HIGHLY suggest the Mirena IUD. It's success rate is higher than tubal ligation. The amount of hormone is extremely low. Fertility returns immediately upon removal but doctors will likely recommend waiting 2 months to TTC to let the lining "fluffen up" a bit. Because the hormones are so low there are much fewer side effects. Many women experience MUCH lighter periods and several have no period at all on Mirena. I had one and it was great. I waited the 2 months and got pregnant the 3rd month off of Mirena. No pill to remember. Nothing to remember in the heat of the moment. It's good for 5 years. It's fabulous. Definitely give Mirena a good long thought because it's awesome.

I just started back on the pill, and according to my doc there's only one kind you can take if you're breastfeeding, but I don't remember the name off the top of my head.  It is progesterone only.  However, I am horrible at remembering to take pills, so I am thinking about getting a Mirena (IUD), which my doc highly recommended, but it freaks me out a bit. Glad to hear the positive review of it, thanks! Now just need to find out if it is covered by my insurance.

I do not reccommend the Mirena IUD, I had one in for the allotted 5 years. I had it taken out Jan 2010 and I got pregnant in July 2010, well after the 2 months allotted waiting period. I miscarried anyways. I have read a lot about the Mirena having that effect on many women. I had the patch for 6 months after I had my daughter and it worked great. I am not a pill taker so I looked for alternatives. Good luck

I have short term memory loss. Do not take it personally if I do not remember you right away.
