Friday morning I woke up at 4am to take a shower and make sure I had everything ready for the hospital. We had to leave for the hospital at 5am for my scheduled csection. MIL came over to stay with DD and everything was off to a great start. I had been nervous for weeks but for some reason that morning I was feeling great and ready to go.
We got to the hospital and hooked up to the IV and monitors. It turns out I was going in to labor anyway. I am just glad that I was able to have the csection instead of laboring with my back the way it is. 7:30 rolled around and the nurses came to take me to the OR. It took 3 tries to get my spinal tap in because of my back issues. They were very painful tries... Anyway, I finally was numb and layed out on the table when they brought DH in. I could already tell that he wasn't feeling well, he was pale white.
They started the csection and within 5 minutes Emmett was out and impressing everyone with his hair and size, 9lbs 8oz 21inches long, he is a sturdy boy. DH went with him to the warming table while they were cleaning him up. I asked the doctor is DH was doing ok since I couldn't see him. She said "Good, but I am going to check on him, he is looking a little pale." They ended up sending DH out of the room because he was not doing well at all, although he didn't pass out! I was back in my room by 8:30am. The nurses told me that my doctor was the fastest csection doc around. It turns out he really is haha.
In the end we are all doing well. Emmett is nursing like a champ (which is a nice change from our daughter, Daisy) and I am feeling great! I had a shower first thing this morning and it was like heaven on earth!
Thank you all for your T&Ps!
