throw away Hyland's teething tabs

If you've been around here for any time you know I am not a fan of Hyland's teething tabs because of the ingredients. I just saw on the news that the manufacturer is asking parents to throw away what they have because of larger doses of belladonna in the tabs! Yikes! THe fact that the belladonna is in the tabs is what I violently dislike about them. It;s a recall but they arent replacing your stock they want you to throw them away.

Bottom line- belladonna= highly poisonous. Why on earth would they put it in something we give our kids? Regardless of the the reported minute amt.

They're offering a credit or replacement. Goto the Hylands site. I am going to look for different ones today at BRU. They are concerned about the varying amounts of Belladonna in them when there should be a set amount give or take a very small variance that they have obviously exceeded.. Sounds a bit like the Tylenol/Motrin recall bad quality control.

You already know I'm right up there on the soapbox with you. Wink

I'm glad the FDA is finally cracking down on them, so that maybe people will realize that these products aren't as safe as they think they are.

Man we have a crowded soapbox....I wish the FDA would crack down faster. I hate that manufacturers can call them 'dietary supplements' and get away with not doing a lot of the safety and efficacy testing that drugs go through.
