AW: New siggy & update

I went back to work 4 weeks ago and haven't had hardly anytime to post!  Going back to work was hard - but my mom is watching Jackson and it's going well.  She comes to our house and because my dad travels a good bit, she stays the night at our house a few nights a week since they live 45 min. away.  Nice to have the extra help in the evenings!

Jackson didn't have a great 2 mo. check up - his weight gain was not good from 1 month to 2 months (about 11 oz in one month) so we went back to supplementing.  I got fed up with all the pumping and nursing (he was nursing for 1+ hours each time) and it was right around the time I went back to work so I was pumping round the clock to have enough for his supplement bottles.  So I made the difficult decision to become an exclusive pumper.  It hasn't been easy, I wasn't making enough in the beginning for him, so we had to use some formula, but my supply has been steadily increasing and we haven't used formula in about 1.5 weeks!

The benefits of EPing have been great - in about 3 weeks he has gained over 2 pounds!  We go back to the pedi on 11/4 and she wanted him to gain 1-2 pounds and he will likely have gained 2.5-3 pounds so I think she'll be very pleased :)  He's really starting to fill out and even outgrowing some of his 0-3 mo clothes!

He is sleeping through the night for the most part - going down around 11/11:30 and waking up between 6 and 7.  I have to get up to pump at 2:30 so I don't get a full nights sleep but I'm hoping to drop that session in the next few weeks once I make sure my supply is established for pumping.

New siggy is of his latest accomplishment - cheesy grins!  He has been smiling for several weeks but just this past week he has really started smiling a ton and laughing!

Good for you for EP. Keep up the good work, Jackson!

We do call him Jack now and then.  I think when he gets older and goes to school we will call him Jack more.

  • It's funny because he was "Jackson" for the longest time, and now I say "Jack" more than "Jackson". I do think it's because he is getting older.... that and it's easier to yell, haha!

Great name, either way- if I do say so myself.= )

  • Cutie! Nothing better than big toothless baby grins!

  • He is adorable!  I also went back to work a few weeks ago!  It seems like there are never enough hours in the day.  I am also an exclusive pumper and it has worked out great for us!

    Love the cheesy grins!

  • That picture is too cute! I'm glad the transition back to work has been a smooth one! GL w/ the EP'ing, I'm glad you were able to find something that works for you :-) I know how frustrating and hard it can be to have a baby that isnt gaining weight very well :-/ I know there are a lot of moms on here that EP'd so if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask!

Oh and I know Kel has a great tip list saved on her computer of things for mommies that EP and it was very helpful to me
