Infertility

Has anyone tried any of the following?

FertiliTea? (tea) / OvuWatch? Clear Blue Easy Monitor? FertilityScope (to check for ferning in Salva)? or Soft Cup by Instead (Cervical Cap)?

I saw these products on-line and just wondering how good they are. So if you have used any of them pleae tell! Don't want to waste money. Thanks

Re: Has anyone tried any of the following?

  • I have used the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor, and a lot of people on here and the other pg boards have also.

It didn't work for me because of my pcos issues, but it is definitely a reputable and helpful product.

I've heard of the OvuWatch, but I don't know much about it. What I have heard has been good.

I haven't heard about the other things.

If you do buy anything to ingest in some way, run it by your OB or RE first. Some of them are against it depending on your issues and what meds you might be on.

  • I tried "Instead" about 10 years ago when it first came out hoping I would be able to stop using tampons, and it worked, the only problem I found, and was a deal-breaker for me, was the mess taking it out.  If you are at home, the mess is not such a big deal, but changing it while at work or in a public restroom,....NO WAY.

  • I"m using the CBEFM. It's nice in that it keeps track of your cycles and has been reasonably accurate in helping me figure out when I'm going to ovulate. I'm lucky--I got one for free. The machine and the sticks are pricey.
  • I've used the CBEFM and FertiliTea - neither worked.  The CBEFM didn't work b/c I don't ovulate due to PCOS, so I guess in a way it did work, it confirmed for me that I don't ovulate and forced me to talk to my doctor sooner than I may have otherwise.  FertiliTea also didn't cause me to ovulate and it tastes pretty...not good.  But take that with a grain of salt, I'm not a fan of most herbal teas.  I also use the Instead cup for my AF.  I find that my cycle is light enough that I don't have to change it in a public place.  You can also tip the cup forward if it gets full and starts leaking (TMI) without actually removing it.  Anyway I think it's a great product but it's clearly not for everyone.  I know a lot of people prefer the Diva Cup for AF b/c it's completely re-usable.  I may try one after I'm done with fertility treatments.
