So potty training IS the torture I expected. DD is now peeing out of her daytime CD, no matter what inserts I put in there. She is the master of holding it in and letting loose all at once. So, I tried her night diaper with inserts during the day. She hates the bulk of those, and tears them off at first wake. Urrrrrghhhh. She loooooves the princess Pull Ups. I hate them. Can they even feel an ounce of wetness in those things? Should I consider buying the cooling Pull Ups? Do they really contain pees and poos? I hate filling up the landfill, and this goes against everything we have been doing for months. Unless I buy her 4 times more clothing, I feel I have no choice here. Did you buy 4 times the clothing when you PT your LO? We did training pants this week, and she still didn't get it. I changed her clothing 3 times in 6 hours. Again.....urgh. But she pees in the potty at school like a champ.
Re: Pull ups questions
I know this might not help you problem, but DON'T bother with the pull ups or the wet alert pull ups either. They don't contain a lot of pee/poo and my DS never noticed the difference between those and diapers. I only use them like once a day when we are headed out and I don't want the hassle of an accident in the middle of Kroger! But, we are pretty much 100% potty trained for pee. Poo, on the other hand, is a different story. DS never has a ton of poo, so the pull ups work for us once a day. Otherwise, he is in underwear.
I know probably everyone is saying this, but she will get it. If she goes at school, then its only a matter of time before she does the same at home. We too went through (and still do sometimes) a lot of clothes. Hang in there mama! You're doing great!

I'm with you on this. It kills me, but we've been buying Pull-Ups. I just can't justify buying cloth training pants with how expensive they are and how little of a time they will be used. We call the Pull-Ups "big girl underpants" and when we are home, we ask her literally every ten minutes if she has to pee or poop.
If we go out and we're driving around, she's still in a Pull-Up, and sometimes she'll say, "I peed in my underpants," and we'll just say something along the lines of that she needs to try to hold it next time and tell us, etc. I think she's still pretty early in the PTing stage that I'm not ready to put her in real underpants all day long because she still will get excited about something she's playing with and insist that she doesn't have to go, etc., and then will still go. I think we'll try that next month. I will say it's been a slow progression but I'm hesistant to push her. Also, she is definitely making progress. She's just doing much better each week on independently walking over there and peeing or pooping.
FWIW, we also have the princess Pull-Ups and she loves them. She won't even let us put a regular diaper on her except for a CD at night. I hate wasting the money, but we only buy them on sale and sometimes she's okay with me getting the generic Pull-Ups if she likes the design.
Pull-ups do not contain a lot of pee or poo. If she's wetting out of her CDs during the day, the pull-up will be even worse. If she poos in the pull-up, then you need to get it off of her ASAP or it will smear out of it. Yep, gross, been there.
The cooling ones don't really do anything. Justin didn't appear to notice the difference. We use them at naptime only and still do an overnight diaper at bedtime because they're really just useless for training, IMO, we just use them to contain accidents.
I didn't buy 4 times the clothing, but I do a buttload of laundry every day. Justin probably has 30 pairs of underwear though!

Same here. We just took them away. He relied too much on the pullups or diapers. We had 2-3 days of quite a few accidents, and even the first day of school there were 4 accidents. But he had it down after just a couple of days.
