I don't get these paci stuffed animals either! You're supposed to avoid having plush toys near your childs face when they're sleeping and these toys are attached to a paci that hold them there!
That's actually an awesome product. Babies like to suck, but they also spit their pacis out every 1.2 seconds, requiring you to put it back in over and over and over and over and over again, oh yeah, and then again. Since duct taping the paci to their little mouth is completely out of the question ;-) the little stuffed animal provides just enough weight to keep them from spitting it out (or if they do, they can get it back in on their own, easily), without making it something that could suffocate them.
I had a friend who LOVED these for her triplets because if they spit the paci out, you can find it quickly!!
However, it seems like a very heavy item to have hanging from your babies mouth once he/she is sitting up. I can't imagine dentist or speech pathologist say good things about them!!

Ah I see! That makes sense.
I married a ginger.

DD has a Wubbanub. It's similar, but has a Soothie attached to it.
I really like it for when she's in her carseat/stroller. That way if she drops her soothie it doesn't go rolling down by her legs. It keeps it up by her mouth where she can get it again if she wants it- and the little monkey is easy for her to hold.
