dent in head after a fall

So DS fell 2 weeks ago and hit the front of his head on my eliptical machine.  He only cried for 30 seconds or so and then went to pick out a book for me to read.  When I was reading the book everything was fine but when I looked up he had a big egg.  Called neighbor over she reassured me not to worry just keep an eye on him to make sure he didn't vomit or seem off. I iced the bump. DS was fine playing like normal.  

Now 2 weeks later the egg and bruise is gone but now ds has a line that is a bit indented.  Looks kind of like a scar so not deep but I notice. Will this go away?  Is it anything to worry about now this long after the fall. 

I will call doctor tomorrow but just to see if anyone else experienced this.

    He may have split some of the deeper layers of the skin without breaking the surface (kind of like when you bruise a piece of fruit but the skin doesn't break). I would ask the doc, but it will probably heal completely in a few weeks.

    My nephew fell and hit his head on the corner of a wooden entertainment center when he was 13 months.  He had a red divet mark on his forehead for months.  It seemed like it took forever for that line to go away.

    Just go to the doctor.

    I had a fall as a toddler and my head ended up caving in the next day.

    I just made a post almost like this about a week ago. My LO did the same thing. He got a big bump and now he has a dent in his forehead. i called the pedi. His nurse said it could actually be his skull dented our the tissue behind the skull. ugh gross!!! she saw that I have an appointment around thanksgiving and said just mention it to the Dr then. So I guess it's not too big of a deal if she thought it can hold off until then.
