Hey all -
Any recommendations for good childbirth classes in the Metrowest area? I've heard good things about Isis, but their classes are only for a couple of weeks at a time, and I'm looking for a more on-going thing - sort of like the classes at Newton-Wellesley where I'll be delivering (although I haven't heard great things about their classes.) Anyone take classes at NW and have any advice?
Thanks in advance - I'm new to posting and would love some feedback from local moms who have been there!
Re: Recommendations for Childbirth Classes
A bit further than metrowest, but Mothers and Company in West Boylston offers a large variety of classes.
Other options include classes with an independent educator trained through ALACE/IBWP, Lamaze, Hypnobirthing, Bradley, ICEA and others (if you go to the website for each organization they'll have listings of the teachers by state).
Bradley classes are 12 weeks in length, I've heard good things about Ellen Seebacher and Ann Marie Lindquist Their contact information is on the bradley website: https://bradleybirth.com/GetTeachers.aspx?statemap=MA
I personally love the HypnoBabies program, but as of now there are no local instructors. Instead you could do the homestudy program which I've used twice and recommend to anyone looking for a childbirth education program.
