Not eating a lot...should I be worried?

So...as I've put up on here a few times, we had attempted to try DS on the powder form of his formula. However, after a few days, we realized that it clearly wasn't working for him, as he would scream during and after his feed, bring his little legs up, and just wail! We figured his little tummy just couldn't handle the powder. We put him back on the concentrate Thursday evening.

Yesterday, he really didn't eat much at all. He produced wet diapers all day and did have a poopy one, so I'm' not too concerned about dehydration, but now I'm concerned that I've made him scared of the bottle and/or food? Is that even possible at this age? Or is it more likely that he's just still a bit queasy or something and doesn't have a huge appetite?

I'm just curious as to where my little chomping monkey is??

  • he's probably just re-adjusting and not eating much because he doesn't know what you're giving him.  He's probably testing the food out to make sure it doesn't make his tummy hurt.

  • We had a decrease in appetite around the 2 month mark as well.  It might be normal.  DS used to eat 5 oz pretty consistently.  Then one day he decreased to only wanting 4 oz.  Now he's starting to want 4.5 oz.  You can always call your pedi if you are concerned, though.
