We have a Chicco umbrella stroller -- about $60 from BRU. I keep it in the back of my Civic and we use it all the time. It has worked well in airports, malls, parks, etc.
I feel like I've written about this stroller a dozen times this week! We really love our Peg Perego Aria One-Hand (OH) ultra light-weight stroller. It's only about 10 lbs, but still has the features of the full-size strollers (big canopy, bug basket, snack tray, cup holders for mom and baby, etc.). And it's truly a one-hand stroller - you can steer and open/close it one handedly. I took it on a flight when I had DD by myself and it made things really easy for me. It was our compromise between a full-size and an umbrella stroller.
we really love our chicco capri umbrella stroller. i guess only downside if you care is that it doesn't recline fully, but that doesn't bother us since she will sleep in it regardless.
Maclaren Volo in Coffee - 8lbs. and super easy to push/fold. It has a pretty deep natural recline, so we don't miss that much. I love it and highly recommend it! GL!
I've got an expensive jogging stroller I never touch, because I'd only run if I was being chased by a bear, and I don't think I'd need a jogging stroller in the middle of the woods.
I've got a great InStep backpack stroller that I just love. Joseph likes it because he can sit up straight in it because the seat is kind of suspended, like the seat in a jumperoo. Great for stuff where he's getting in and out of it, or if we are going to be someplace with weird terrain where we can just fold it in half and throw it on Matthew's back.
Best though? The $12 BRU umbrella stroller. He can't sleep in the other one, so if we're going to be someplace all day, this is best because he can relax more. Only bad side is we're really tall, and it's too short for Matthew to push comfortably. It's almost too short for me, but not quite.
I second the Peg Perego Aria OH. I loved it at Buy Buy Baby and ended up finding last year's model online at Albeebaby.com for $89!! I LOVED the huge basket and the color (orange!!). The Chicco is only 30 cheaper, but I think the Peg Perego is much better and worth the price.
Re: Recommend your lightweight stroller
We got a Maclaren Techno XT- floor model for cheap and I LOVE it!!
