The only things we have to purchase for this baby are:
double stroller
nursing/bottle supplies
second highchair
Toddler bed for DS 1
We already have all the clothes and shoes we need. And we cloth diaper so we are set there... Im pretty sure that DH is beyond stoked that we will be spending less than $200 to have this baby. (We got our double stroller for $100 and our insurance is amazing)
oooh but dont get me wrong... i totally still dream of having a little girl someday.
Re: Pro's to having two LO's of the same gender.
My DH and I high-fived at the ultrasound when we found out we are having another boy! Part of it is that we 'know' what to do with our boy, we wanted our DS to have a brother (I just liked the idea of having 2 boys) and also because of the hand-me-downs. We got our double stroller at a consignment store and also cloth diaper. Sweet!
As much as I would have loved to raise a little boy (this is our last baby), I'm happy we're having another girl. I have bins and bins of clothes, shoes, and toys all girl-related, so we're saving BIG time money.
I haven't even decided if we're going to buy a double stroller. DD is almost 2 and she doesn't really like being in the stroller much anymore. I guess we'll see how it goes after the baby is born.
I'm definitely getting an Ergo carrier this time. Running after a toddler with a stroller probably isn't easy or fun.
I'd at least look into getting a used Sit N Stand stroller - my 3yo HATES the stroller - except when he sees his brother in it. Then, suddenly, walking is a huge inconvenience for him. HAHA.?
My DS will only be 21 months so we went with the Joovy Ergo Caboose stroller! Its fabulous!! It has the toddler sit in the front seat and the baby carseat is right next to you.. and when the baby is older, they can sit in the front seat and your bigger kid can either stand in back or sit on the seat... i would totally recommend it!
