AND why not?!?
I just got married last April, and they "surprised" me with a shower because they knew I didn't want to be the center of attention.
I feel like the 2 parties would be too close together, and it feels greedy and selfish. DH and I both have decent jobs- we can afford to get our own baby stuff. I don't want anyone to feel obligated to buy me things.
I was thinking maybe of having an orphanage shower, to donate things to the baby home in South Korea my sister came through, and we have brought babies home to their adoptive families from.
I don't knock anyone else for having a shower though- just not my style.
A little over 30 weeks
Anywhere from 32 to 34 weeks depending on scheduling...
Seems so far away!
wow, that would be a really nice thing to do.
my sister has mine basically p lanned already (shes a teacher and been home since june and is really bored now!) she wants it mid feb and I am due mid april, so 32 weeks or so.
I don't know. ?No one has said anything to me about it so I don't know if I am having one. ?
I only got married in March, so it may be too close together to have another shower. ??
About 26-27 weeks for my family shower. I'm flying back for Christmas and that's the only time I'll be back before the baby's born.
I'm having another shower at work, but I assume that won't be until the month or so before s/he's born.
I'm due end of March ... don't know any dates, but assuming that they'll be held end of January through early March.
I live in South Central PA, but my bff from college is in NYC, so is my sister and many college friends (I went to school in Long Island), so bff is planning a non-traditional party for the NY crowd, its much easier for DH and I to travel there than ask a dozen or two people to schlep down here for a shower.
Since there was drama between MOH/DH vs. my aunts for my bridal shower, I suggested that DH speak with interested parties and possibly have two just to alleviate any issues. I actually had to referee and plan the darn thing for wedding shower - NOT what I'm doing this time. That said, I absolutely love that there are so many ppl who wanted to do something for me...it meant the world that they were all so caring.
