Infertility

Anyone POAS after IVF? If so when?!?!?!?

I'm dying.

My beta is set for Monday--but I don't wanna wait until then.  PLUS I'd have to go in before school 7am, for the blood draw, then WAIT until both DH and I get home AFTER School around 4pm for the results.

Today, I am 11dpER.  I did a 5-day blast transfer of 2.  I'd do the test tomorrow morning.  12dpER.

Does that seem reasonable?  DOes anyone actually POAS after IVF or do you all wait?!?!?! WHAT TO DO?!?!?!?

  • I'm not there yet...but I don't plan to wait!

I think HCG starts to show on HPTs after 11-12dpER. Good luck!!!!!

    IVF #3 = Feb 2012
    beta#1 3/21 (14dp3dt)=413, beta#2 3/23 (16dp3dt)=785, u/s 4/11
    EDD 11/25/12

  • I started about 3dp5dt and got a extremely faint positive the evening of 4dp5dt. It turned out to be a very sad chemical (my highest beta was 34), but it was an interesting experiment and gave me a few days of excitement. I would imagine with a strong pregnancy that you might get clearer and/or faster results than I did.

FWIW, I used internet cheapies ("Wondfo brand") from Amazon. They were $10 for 50. You can't beat that price for compulsive POASing! There were reviews stating those tests could pick up an hcg of 6. I have details and pictures of my testing in the blog link in my siggie.

Forty-something TTC since 12/2007 3 failed IVFs DE cycle #1: BFP then D&E at 12 weeks due to neural tube defect DE cycle #2: Chemical FET #1: BFN Lining issues, pursuing adoption
  • I'm just starting my first IVF cycle, so I don't have any advice for you. I just wanted to say GO FOR IT!!! Good luck hun.

  • I'm in the 2ww and my beta is scheduled for 11-2.  But I do plan to POAS before that date.  My ER was 10-18 so I will probably start POAS on 10-27.

     good luck!

  • Ahhhhhhh nodontdoit!! I wish I could speed up the wait for you cause it SUCKS.

  • I have no experience with this but I wanted to say good luck!

    hahaha!  I love you ETOYAMA.

I know, that is usually my protocol--it has always been!  But I just don't know. . . . I feel like I need to be prepared to hear the beta before the beta. . . but what going to prepare me for the POAS-ness???

    Grrr. . . .

Don't worry, I certainly won't judge you either way :) I'm sorry you're dying though. I really think this is the worst part.

  • I'm so not waiting!  I plan to POAS on Sunday 6dp5dt, I already tested out my trigger.  I may POAS tomorrow just because I may not be able to wait Big Smile.  I don't like surprises when it comes to beta calls so I would rather be prepared for good or bad news.

  • I'm still in the stimming phase for IVF #1, so I haven't been there yet, but knowing me, I would POAS.

Good luck whatever way you decide to go.  :)

  •  My advice is to step away from the pee sticks and wait for the beta. Do something fun and distracting this weekend to try to keep your mind off of it.

    and good luck on Monday!!!

  • I'm PRO-POAS. I started testing at 4dp5dt I think. I remember getting a negative one day, then maybe at 5dp5dt I started getting faint lines. I have peed on a lot of sticks in the past week! FWIW, my beta on 8dp5dt was 72.7 and I NEVER got a dark line on an HPT. My official beta test is this Tuesday, 14dp5dt, and I will HOPEFULLY be confirming my BFP. However, I have still gotten relatively "faint" positives all along.
