I have the ergo, bjorn, and Dr. Sears ring sling (can't remember the name). I hate the bjorn, love the ergo for taking the dogs for a walk or going to the mall. And the ring sling has been great around the house to get things done when my lil man is fussy. However he is already 14 lbs at 9 weeks old, so he seems so squished in the ring sling and it still required atleast one hand to support (or atleast it felt like it did). I stopped in our local consignment shop yesterday and they had a Moby for $20, so I decided to give it a try.....I'M IN LOVE WITH WRAPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He instantly fell asleep and i pulled the fabric up to support his head. I can even sit at the computer while he is wrapped. I've folded laundry, gotten some paperwork done, and now don't know what to do next. I really wish I would have tried this first, especially when we were dealing with horrible reflux. My house might actually get cleaned now.
My one and only complaint is how thick the fabric is for the moby. Is their a similar wrap that is cooler...both me and LO are hot natured.
Also has anyone had success nursing using the Moby and at what age/size do wraps no longer work for nursing? LO likes to be fully supported when nursing and when I don't have a nursing pillow when we're out an about he has trouble remaining latched on? Can't wait until he eats again at 2 so I can try nursing using the Moby!
Never thought I'd be so excited about a baby wrap ; )
Re: Just bought my first wrap! (moby wrap)
I loved the moby wrap when my DS was a snuggly newborn! He was so cozy in there, and I was able to actually get some stuff done.
There are some great wrap ladies on here who can give you some advise on a cooler, more breathable wrap.
Good luck trying to nurse in it! I figured it out with a wrap when DS was like 7 months old. Hopefully you'll do better than me.
Yay for your first wrap! If you really like wrapping then you will probably want to eventually get a woven wrap or cotton gauze wrap.
I started using cotton gauze when Grace was 1m old because the moby was to hot for Texas summers. If you would like to test out a cotton gauze wrap PM me and I'll send you one (I make them for new to wrapping mamas)
Have fun wrapping that little one...I already miss the days of having a little newborn in my Moby!
