Babies: 0 - 3 Months

c/s moms

I'm still feeling quite a bit of pain, mostly above the incision site. I know its major surgery but at times it still hurts to lift DS. I was just wondering if this was normal or if I need to put a call into my OB Monday. I also had an infection which so I'm wondering if that may have impaired the healing process some.

  • I had a repeat c/s almost 6 weeks ago.  I am having quite a bit of muscle strain type pain.  But I also have a 33 lb 16 month old that I have lifted up a few times.  I am going to talk to my OB on Tuesday and see what she thinks.  I did not have this kind of pain with my 1st c/s.
  • I'd call the doc too, just to be sure.  It's probably what you said, the infection might have made the healing slower.  My incision hurts when I pull myself up after laying down, but other than that it doesn't bother me.  It's been almost 4 weeks.  Hope you feel better soon!

  • It's normal.  I felt better at 2 or 3 weeks pp, but then the soreness came back.  I still have some tenderness now if I push on the area or strain to lift something.  My OB said it was normal and it can take 6 full months for the tenderness goes away.  If you are just sore, and not in excruciating pain, then I would not worry.  It's just your body reminding you to slow down a bit.
