Just saw my shower invitation!

And it is so pretty! My mom is doing a black, white and pink theme. She also wrote for guests to get my a book instead of a card and it is going to be a presentation shower which I am so happy about! I hate opening gifts and wasting all that wrapping paper. It is hard to believe my shower is just 6 weeks away! Lets hope I am not still on bed rest!

I bet they are pretty I love those colors together. Books are a great idea, you can really use those.

What is a presentation shower? I think my mom wants to do the books instead of cards thing too... And supposedly my shower is going to be an open house format where I am just gonna open the gifts as people arrive.. This is my sisters idea.. and I am not TOO sure how i feel about it.. I see both positives and negatives.

A presentation shower is where the guests do not wrap the gifts. They put a tag with the guest's name on it so I know who it is from. All the gifts are set up in one area so that people can look at them throughout the shower but no one has to sit through all the gift opening. I did this for my wedding shower and people loved it. I like it because I hate being the center of attention and this way if people can only stay for a bit they do not have to wait for all the gifts to be opened.

I got a lot of compliments on my bridal shower because of the presentation idea.

I like that idea, it's always so embarrassing to be opening all of those presents with everyone staring at you when you know they really don't care about most of the gifts.
