Everything happened so fast that I havent had a chance to post. Please excuse typos as I"m only typing with one hand since the other one is full at the moment with a little angel.
i knew something was up Sat night when my HBs were getting stronger. By Sunday morning, lost mucus plug but my water didnt break. i knew it could be severl more days or weeks without ucus plug but I had a feeling it was that day. The strangest ting was that I had this weird congestion like when you breathe in water in the pool - could be unrelated but it went away during delivery.
So, we decided to go to baptist on Sun bc of the contractions but after 3 hours they sent me home and told e to see my OB in the mornin bc I wasd losing some amniotic fluid. Pretty much after leaving baptist, the contractions started to get wprse, but I ddnt want to go back to be sent home, again. Around midnight, they were getting unbearable so we decided to get ready and go to Baptist, again. While I was bowdrying my hair, they started coming 3 mins apart but i had to finish my hair and makeup, lol.
At 1 am we arre seen in triage and the contractions intensified, especially in my lower back. i actually ripped off all the monitors at one point so I could move around and relieve the pain, When the nurse told me I was only 2 cm and they were going to send me home with pain meds, I almost lost it. She disappeared for a while and around 3 am, she told me I would be admitted.
By 4 am, I was in L&D getting my epi and I was 4 cm! There was no way, I"d have the strength or energy to push after anall-nighter of painful contractions. I was able to rest until Dr. K came by at 8 am (so glad Elise had perfect timing - he had just gotten back from the keys). He said he had surgery and he"d be back later. We figured we had plenty of time so we informed family. But when he checked, he said I was ready to push - I thought I'd have more time to rest, lol. I pushed from 8:30 to 8:54 when little Elise was born. DH was right there next to me helping out Dr. K and holding my leg. A nurse intern was on the oter side. She was super nice and thanked us later for letting her be a part of our L&D.
Now, we are just home enjoyimg every minute with our baby girl. She is beautiful and oerfect in every way. DH is even more amazing as a dad than I ever could"ve imagined. We are so happy. Oh, and the doggies are adjusting. Eva, the 6 lb pom, has been great - curious but keeps her distance. Gizmo, the 12 lb pom, looked like he was going to have a heart attack the first couple of days with his nervous shaking and whimpering everyrtime Elise even moved. But, now he seems to have adjusted and is getting used to her.
Have fun at ur gtg today. next one, we"ll be there!
