  It is definitely a girls' name, but it's personally not my style either.  A lot of people like it though (and I do like Harper Lee--To Kill a Mockingbird).

  I do not understand the appeal of this name at all, even if you are a Harper Lee fan (and I am!). It doesn't sound feminine to me- it sounds ugly. It reminds me of a harpoon or to "harp" on someone- neither positiive images imo. Sorry!

  I love love LOVE  the name Harper for a girl... I saw in in a baby name book and fell in love, BUT DH doesnt like it at all so..... Oh well
