yeast infection

Anybody had a yeast infection while pregnant and your OB told you okay to use over the counter monistat?  I hate to call the exchange for such a stupid question.

Re: yeast infection

  • I would call, because every doctor gives different advice about this.

  • My doctor told me to use the 1-day Monistat when I've had one.  I've had 2 now since becoming pregnant.  I was always prone to yeast infections pre-pregnancy too.  I think that you can't take that pill when your pregnant so they have you do over the counter cream which I hate.

Although I'd check with your doctor because your doctor could give you a compltetely different answer than what my doctor gave me.

  • No advice for you but just wanted to say I'm sorry you have one. :(  They are so uncomfortable.  Knock on wood, I haven't had one yet.
  • Thanks ladies. The doctor just called back and said the Monistat 1 is fine to use! I'm off to Walgreens...

  • I have used Diflucan a couple of times and Terazol 3 since being pregnant (both are Rx).  My doc (a peri) gave them to me but my pharmacist didn't like it that I was taking the diflucan.
