I thought this might give you a happy.
DD was naming her new school friends last night and telling me how beeeYOUtiful they all are, how they do puzzles in class together and help each other finish them sometimes. ... "except Holly. She never needs help, she always gets hers done right before we do. And she's very pretty with yellow hair!"
Holly happens to have DS, and as far as I know so far, none of the other kids knows the difference, and she's doing better than probably half her classmates. So there.
