Success after IF

spitting up while sleeping

The last couple nights we've not gottenmuch sleep.  It seems that Eli is starting to spit up a bit more than he had....and most of the time its while he' is laying down...getting it all over his face and hair and making him upset.  Is there anything we can do to help keep him from spitting up at night?  anyone else experiencing this ?  thanks!

Re: spitting up while sleeping

  • We put Gwen to sleep in the Fisher Price Rock and play thing... Yellow, looks like a hammock. It props her up just enough. I also keep her swaddled and slightly on her side, but that is how she was in the NICU.

It helps because if she does spit-up, it is not all over her face. She also feels snuggly in that thing, and sleeps like a ROCK. Even though she is 6 weeks, she is just now due, and is about 7 lbs so she is still little.

THIS is what I am talking about... best $$ we have spent on baby stuff! You can get it for 40.00 with a BBB 20% off.. if you do not have a BBB, Amazon usually has a good price!

  • Totally normal. Are you breastfeeding? If so I'll send you my blog...DD still does this at 8wks but she mainly does it if I feed her and lie her down too quickly. They need to be upright for awhile. If they haven't burp at that age they may spitup. Happens a lot. In those first few wks I had to hold her for 15 to 30 min after a feeding. Sometimesan hr later she would still spitup. Spitup is normal but if they do it all the tir they may not be gaining...
  • Another thumbs up for the Rock n Play!
