    I'd start by going to one of the Parent Topic nights at the Childbirth Collective. there will be a lot of doulas to meet. 

     

    I have a few friends who are doulas, but it's always hard to recommend someone specific to someone I don't know, KWIM?

    We found ours through the Childbirth Collective online - never were able to make it to one of their get-togethers. You can also find them through DONA international (DONA.org) I did mini phone interviews w/some & then met in person w/a few before choosing - it really is a personal choice. We absolutely love ours & we knew she was right when we first met her. If you want, PM me & I'll give you her info.

    My cousin had a very positive natural birth using a doula she was recommended to named Liz.  She found it on www.enlightenedmama.com.

    I recommend Robyn Hustrulid. She is awesome! I knew her personally first and then she was my doula in June.  I was overwelmed by the process of finding one (and did not feel well pregnant) and she was able to guide me through the process. https://www.birthvision.com/.

    I have a co-worker who is in the process of becoming a Doula.  She needs to complete so many volunteer hours in order to be certified.  She offered her services for free in exchange for the volunteer hours.  However, our little one came faster than expected and we never used her.  I would be happy to pass it along if you are interested.  She is a nurse by trade and works with special needs kids and adults and just looking to expand.  Real nice lady and she has a daughter of her own too!
