Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Should I wake my LO?

My LO usually goes to bed between 8:30-9:30pm at night. Last night, she went down at 7pm and slept until around 7am or so (woke up once to feed at 3am, and was playing around a bit, but did go back to sleep). Today, she fell asleep at 6pm and I was hoping she would just nap for an hour or something. It is 8:30pm right now, and I am not sure what to do. My inclination is just to let her sleep... even though she isn't in her jammies and sleep sack. "Never wake a sleeping a baby." Right? Although, I really do not want her to wake up at 4am or something and be ready to take on the day... because, I promise.. I won't be! I might at least slip her sleep sack on her before I go to bed, but I don't want to wake her. Just curious what I should do.

Re: Should I wake my LO?

  • For now, I would let her be and deal with the consequences.  I've had to do this myself a few times :)  I would take it as a hint that it's time to move up bedtime.  For some nutty reason, earlier bedtime tends to = sleeping longer.

  • I think the last few days earlier bed time has been due to a failure of letting her get good naps in. Sad

  • If it was me, I'd wake her up.
