Non- Clicky-Which trimester was more difficult?

Just wondering what you ladies think.

I had morning sickness for about 7 weeks in my 1st trimester, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some you ladies had it.  I hated the constant queasiness but my energy level wasn't bad at all and I didn't have any other horrible symptoms.

Third trimester hasn't been awful.  Typical aches and pains.  I am also super tired after working with a classful of second graders.  I debate back and forth which has been harder.

What do you ladies think?

  • 3rd Trimester--I have been so sore the past few weeks, I'd almost rather have morning sickness instead. It hurts so bad to get out of bed in the morning I almost cry, it's like my muscles down there lock up and it also hurts to walk. I didn't feel this way until I was 37 weeks with DS, it hit me early this time.

I am super stiff in the morning as well.  My arms fall asleep all the time when I am sleeping.  I think it is because of the positions I get into to try to rest comfortably.

  • Hands down, 1st tri. I didn't have morning sickness, in fact I felt pretty good. But, I was in a constant state of worry. I allowed myself to get so stressed out and didn't enjoy those first few months at all. I was so worried about losing the baby.
  • 1st tri for sure! I had (and still have morning sickness), but it was definitely the worst then, couldn't get off the couch I was so sick and tired. Had absolutely NO energy either. Of course now I have the aches and pains, but it's still better than those first few months.

  • 3rd has definitely been the most difficult so far. I am getting to so uncomfortable and my body just feels like its giving out on me. I had hypermesis in the 1st and 2nd, but at least that I could control with medication! I hate not being able to sit up without asking for help, and the lack of sleep is really starting to wear on me.

  • I feel like the 1st trimester went by so fast and now that I am in my 3rd trimester...it is going by so slow.  I keep thinking about how I have 8 more weeks of this constant fatigue and discomfort and it is only going to get harder.

  • 1st trimester for me, definitely.   The constant nausea, the constant worry, and knowing that there were still MONTHS and MONTHS to go!

Now that there are a few more weeks to go, I am reassured that all my tests are normal, I can handle the soreness and constant peeing.  It is fun to get all the things my little guy is going to need and feel him rolling and kicking in my belly!  Now, I think about what it is going to be like holding my little guy and all the wonderful things (and some not so wonderful...) about being a Mommy!  Smile

  • 3rd is worse for me. Aside from being REALLY tired in 1st tri - it was a breeze for me. I didn't let myself worry and I wasn't really ever sick so I'm very fortunate. Third trimester is a different ballgame, I'm afraid. I'm sick, a lot. I'm 300% uncomfortable. I can't sleep, I'm an emotional basketcase, my whole body hurts, and I'm thoroughly done thinking it's fun. :)

  • 1st tri for me, DEFINITELY. Even with rods in my back, arthritis in my hips, and being on my feet all day for teaching, 1st tri was BY FAR the worst! I was sick day and night, puked three plus times a day, and lost more weight than I gained! SO glad to be past that!

  • I had nausea and constant gagging in the first tri (which sucked) and I was exhausted. However, I think 3rd tri will take the cake. I dislike feeling uncomfortable, bending over hurts, I can't tie my shoes, I'm mentally checked out of work, and I've had a cold for a month now. At least in 1st tri I could still do things without difficulty. Now I'm a slug. And my back hurts.

Also, I'm a teacher and during first tri I told myself "Soon it will be summer and I'll feel better." Now, the months of school loom ahead of me and I know I'll just get more and more uncomfortable and sleep deprived.

  • 3rd for me has been really hard so far. I am in constant pain, can't sleep, can't get comfortable and am super anxious for her to be here!
  • 3rd has been the worst mostly because of the GD.  It's such a drag.

  • I think 1st tri was harder.  I had really bad morning sickness and it was stressful because I was worried about miscarrying.

The third trimester is definitely the most uncomfortable but it's also fun, I have a visible belly and a little guy that does a daily happy dance in there so...

  • 3rd- I have intense lower back pain and am very uncomfortable throughout the night, which results in no sleep.

  • i felt fine the 1st just a lil tired, second was also easy as pie, this 3rd though is really getting to me, in pain, got GD and having trouble just plain moving around

  • I would say 1st Trimester. The constant morning sickness and fatigue that all I could do was sleep both made those months awful.

I feel like the 3rd Trimester is tough, but the fatigue comes more in spurts and after a quick break I have energy again. Also the heartburn sucks. But I am so much more excited now and it is almost over which make this trimester so much more bearable than the 1st.

  • With this pregnancy (my third) the first trimester was really rough because I had NO energy. I had to take a nap every day and sometimes I was so exhausted I could hardly move.

The third tri has it's downsides, like I can't bend or hardly move without being uncomfortable but at least I don't feel like I am going to pass out at any second like during the first tri.

  • I might be jinxing myself, but the 2nd tri was by far the worst. I was miserable through most of it with pelvic pressure and my body just not cooperating with me.

  • So far, I would have to say the first.  I was soooo exhausted all the time and had constant low-grade nausea.  I just didn't feel like myself really until I was a bit into the second trimester.  The third has been tough for its own reasons (I have GD, and the diet such, plus sticking myself with a lancet to test all the time is a PITA), but so far I still feel good... but I reserve the right to change my mind later on. ;)

  • 1st was aweful for me I was nauseous non stop, tired all the time. Also I was super emotional. Im glad that didn't last the whole time.

  • I'd pick third.  None of it has been truly bad, but this these last few weeks I've been so achy.  The GD has taken a lot of fun out of stuff too.  I was really lucky to have such easy 1st and 2nd trimesters.

  • Jury is out. I was ready to say 1st tri until yesterday. I have finally found out that this problem I've been experiencing throughout 2nd and 3rd tri is probably symphysis pubis dysfunction. And it just got worse. If it gets a lot worse than now, then 3rd will be the worst, because I won't really be able to walk. But if it's stable at this level of discomfort, I think I'd still take this over 1st tri.

  • 1st and 2nd tri were so easy for me... barely any symptoms.  3rd tri is starting to get a little difficult with my back and pelvis pains so id say 3rd tri is the most difficult for me.
  • I'd still say 1st with all the nausea, vomiting, food aversions, exhaustion, and worry....it just dragged on and on. Though 3rd is gaining ground daily with difficulty sleeping due to hip pain and heartburn, and now the GD.

Though at least I look visibly pregnant now and can enjoy feeling the kiddo move around, which certainly gives 3rd tri bonus points! Smile

  • 3rd tri

1st and 2nd tri were a breeze.  3rd tri is starting to get uncomfortable and annoying.
