I think H is getting her first cold. She's sneezing/coughing and has a runny nose. She doesn't have a fever. I'll call the pedi in the morning but is there anything we can do/give her in the meantime to make her more comfortable? We don't have a humidifier though I can pick one up if it will help.
Re: How to treat baby cold?
If she's congested, saline drops in her nose will help break it all up. If her sleep is being effected, you can try elevating the head of her mattress a little, but some babies are too squirmy for that and end up upside-down. Definitely pick up a cool mist humidifier and run that in her room.
There's not really anything safe to give infants for cough/cold treatment - just the saline drops or tylenol/motrin for fever, and that's about it.
Hope she's feeling better soon!
