U/s with cyst

Did anyone have a cyst and then find out they were PG? I went in for a u/s yesterday and my tech smiled and said the cyst might actually be a good sign of PG and my endometrial lining was very healthy and thick. It is really getting my hopes up and I should test Monday or Tuesday.

  • Thanks! I am taking deep breaths though trying to say sane and not get my hopes up.:)
  • if you are pregnant its more than likey a corpus luteum cyst which is actually a good thing. It helps provide extra progesterone/nutrients  for the developing embryo. We went thru IVF so i had one with this pregnancy it eventually went away.
  • I think that's exactly what the tech said..but she didnt want to get my hopes to up because she is not a "doctor" and the doctor would have to confirm it. So I should know something on Monday!:) Thanks for the responses!
  • I have no experience with this, but I just wanted to say good luck.  I hope you get your BFP really soon!
  • Oooo exciting! I have never heard of this, but I hope you get your BFP! Keep us posted.

  • When I had my first u/s at 8.5 weeks the doctor saw a cyst on my ovary that was 7.8 cm.  He asked if I had any pain because it looked like it had already burst due to a pool a fluid nearby.

He did another ultrasound 4 weeks later with the hopes that it shrunk and it was completely gone. They are pretty common and they usually burst and shrink.

  • Actually I just found out I have one on my ovary, it is called a corpus luteum cyst and it helps the baby until the placenta takes over.  Over the duration of the pregnancy they shrink and disappear.
  • Well you all have definitely helped ease my fear of cysts! Thanks!
  • I did. I went in for an early u/s because I was having lots of pain on my right side. It turns out I had a cyst on my right ovary. My OB said it's very common early in pregnancy to develop a cyst on whatever side you ovulate from. It generally goes away on it's own.

    Good luck!!

  • How far along were you when you went in for a u/s? The tech said that she wouldnt be able to tell yesterday by the u/s because it would only be like right at 3 weeks.
